                   Features

The following features are also provided and may be of interest:

  • There are few steps inside and outside apart from at one outside door threshold, where there is also an alternative of an easy gradient wheelchair ramp, and, of course, the staircases all of which are fitted with nurse-attended Stannah Chair lifts. There is also a Stannah Shaft lift.

  • For those who wish it bathing may be accomplished from their own room to the bathroom and back without lifting or standing by the use of nurse-attended Arjo bathing aids.
  • All rooms have wash-hand basins and their own toilets with air-extraction fans.
  • There is an easy-to-use Nurse-Call system available to all parts of all rooms. The main system is a hardwired digital electronic system which numerically indicates from where a call is being made and also indicates the locations where the nurses are present. For the benefit of the residents and their visitors it does not ring loudly all over the building while being instantly detected by the nurses.

  • There are fire doors between all rooms and corridors and most are fitted with 'free swing Automatic closers. This means that the doors are exactly the same as normal doors for a normal use and one does not have to fight to open the door or to keep it open while passing through. Only when the fire-alarm goes off do all the fire doors close automatically I they happen to be open at that time. Most are also fitted with instrument strips in their edges to prevent the passage of smoke in the event of a fire.

  • Radiators in resident areas are 'Low Surface Temperature'. This means they cannot burn you when they are on. They put out the same amount of heat as a normal radiator and they are each controlled by individual thermostats in each bedroom.
  • Most bedrooms have an easy-to-read wall clock.

  • Fabrics in most rooms are made from fire resistant 'Trevira' or have been treated to make them fire-retardant. This includes curtains, bed linen, chairs and carpets.

  • All external glazing is in hermetically sealed double glass which means its warmer to the touch and more difficult to break than normal glass.

  • Window heights have been arranged so that people can see out of the window when sitting down.

  • The kitchens are fitted-out with stainless steel units and with special high temperature commercial dishwashers.

  • The laundry employs commercial washing machines, sluice machines, steam disaffection machines, dryers and ironing machines.

  • All toilet doors open outwards which means that should someone inadvertently slip down behind the door they can be 'rescued' without the worry of being pushed across the floor my the opening door.

PLEASE NOTE THAT FOXEARTH LODGE OPERATES AN ALL INCLUSIVE FEE STRUCTURE. THERE ARE NO HIDDEN EXTRA'S. THE ONLY AREAS NOTICED ABOVE WHERE ADDITIONAL COSTS MAYBE INCURRED ARE FOR DENTAL TREATMENT OR DENTURES, OPTICIANS' FEES, DRY CLEANING, LONG-DISTANCE TELEPHONE CALLS AND ANY ARRANGEMENTS RESIDENTS MAY HAVE MADE PRIVATELY.
